Raving 4 A Reason was founded by Hazel Williams, a full-time working mum from Essex, in memory of her best friend Charmaine, who passed away from lung cancer at just 34. What began as a one-off charity rave in 2019 quickly grew into a powerful grassroots movement that brings people together through music to raise money for causes that matter.<\/p>

Since that first event, R4AR has raised over \u00a325,000 for a wide range of charities and individuals in need \u2014 including mental health organisations, cancer charities, domestic abuse services and families facing personal hardship. Each event not only uplifts communities but also honours the spirit of support and compassion that inspired its creation.<\/p>

In Feb 2025, R4AR changed itself into a community interest company and now supports young people to develop their music creativity in safe environments and workshops, enabling us to offer excellent support and industry knowledge, as well as providing positive influences.<\/p>

We\u2019re backed by an ever-growing network of artists, DJs and headliners from across the underground music scene \u2014 from garage to jungle \u2014 including legends like Brockie, Ragga Twins, Jamie G, Chalkie White and many more who\u2019ve donated their time and talent in support of the cause.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

He seems so much happier having his djing as a safe space and being able to express himself through music . \n\t\t\t\t\t\tMy DJ teacher, Travis, is honestly one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. He helps me learn how to use Rekordbox, which is this big DJ program with tons of buttons and lights and things that look really complicated at first. When I started, I didn't know what pretty much anything did, but Travis was super patient and showed me everything step by step. He never makes me feel silly for not knowing something.\nHe always says learning to DJ is like learning a new language, and he's there to help me understand it.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tIn April 2018 my beautiful brother died by suicide, since then we as a family set up The Craig Tyler Trust, a mental health and suicide prevention service based in Basildon. \nHazel has followed our charity from day one and has always flown our flag god bless her.\n \nLast year hazel came to me and wanted to help us in whatever way she could, she set up an event in our name and raised us a life changing amount of money! \nHer amazing friend even walked from clacton to Basildon to raise funds for our organisation! \n\nSince then with her help and support we have managed to open our centre for a further 2 days a week, we have supported numerous service users with emergency food parcels and care packages & have moved a homeless man into a HMO with brand new furniture and supplies! \n\nWe cannot thank Hazel enough for her community spirit and amazing generosity!
